I came across an advertisement today: a coupon for popcorn caked in chocolate with caramel drizzled over its surface--right next to a coupon for smoothies and health food.
I made sense of it in the only way I could: I rolled up the brochure, drizzled it with lube, slid it into my ass, and moaned like the consumer whore they want me to be.
Special thanks to nekoonna for pointing me to the anime Toshokan Sensou (Library Wars), which is an anime I probably never would have heard of otherwise.
This is a video for changes by Base Ball Bear, which is used as the ending theme. I lurve it.
Well a lot's been going on with me, good and bad both. Lately things have been blissfully free of ups or downs, though.
I did read the worst manga I've ever read tonight, though. It's called Heavenshield, and it's by Ryu Blackman. It's an English-language manga, meaning that it wasn't actually translated from Japanese. I definitely, definitely do not recommend it to any living soul, nor most dead ones.
Been reading a lot lately. Mice Templar came out with a new issue this month; Vertigo has started a series called House of Mystery which has the potential to be promising. In the realm of books, I am reading licensed Magic: The Gathering fantasy, having finished Morningtide last week and picking through the short stories in Shadowmoor at a leisurely pace as I intend to get around to the more substantial fantasy Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb.
Trying to pull together some sense of purpose in my life. Get on with my artistic and linguistic pursuits. There's a certain dead weight that has formed over that part of my soul in the past several years, and I'm not sure how to get past it. I have a few things in the works with my life right now, though, that should hopefully get me on the right track again in the coming months.
I just got done playing some Lost Odyssey. It is a very good game, with one of the most moving storylines I've played in a while. I still think as far as pure overall design goes, Shadow of the Colossus is a superior title, but this definitely takes a high spot on my list.
And even though the moment passed me by I still can't turn away. I saw the dreams you never thought you'd lose Tossed along the way. Letters that you never meant to send, Get lost and blown away.
And now we're grown-up orphans That never knew their names. We don't belong to no one That's a shame. You could hide beside me, Maybe for a while, And I won't tell no one your name. And I won't tell 'em your name.
Scars are souvenirs you never lose; The past is never far. And did you lose yourself somewhere out there? Did you get to be a star? And don't it make you sad to know that life Is more than who we are?
You grew up way too fast And now there's nothing to believe And reruns all become our history. A tired song keeps playing on A tired radio. And I won't tell no one your name. And I won't tell 'em your name.
I think about you all the time, But I don't need the same. It's lonely where you are, Come back down. And I won't tell 'em your name.
